Kunena 6.4.8 Released
The Kunena team has announce the arrival of Kunena 6.4.8 [K 6.4.8] in stable which is now available for download as a native Joomla extension for J! 5.0.x/5.1.x/5.2.x/5.3.x/5.4.x. This version addresses most of the issues that were discovered in K 6.2 / K 6.3 / K 6.4 and issues discovered during the last development stages of K 6.4
Important note: Go to the Kunena Dashboard after an upgrade so that the Kunena database tables are also updated. This is particularly necessary for major version jumps so that the table changes are adapted.

Merged WYSIWYG editor for Kunena: How to allow HTML tags?
Currently we use ccboard with jce as our editor. This allows us COMPLETE integration of all articles, menus, content, imagery all selectable from nice menus. They can upload, resize, create thumbnails all very simply without knowing obscure bbcode. Can Kunena do this? If not will it be fixed in 1.6? This may sound trivial but its a fantastically friendly and complete integration.

I understand and completely sympathise with your situation. Currently (in K 1.5) what you seek is not available; this functionality will also not be available in the next main release of Kunena (K 1.6). Kunena messages (including embedded MIME objects like images) are formatted by Kunena's proprietary BBcode. It has been suggested that full WYSIWYG editing may be incorporated into a future version of Kunena (e.g. K 2.0).I've got a problem with Kunena 1.5 that I hope is easily fixable, as for me and my members, this is a "Show Stopper".

I highlight text and then click on the formatting I want but the codes do not get inserted.
On my installation of Kunena for bold it tells me to insert <strong>text</strong>
while here the code is different.
In Joomla I have selected "Default WYSIWYG Editor = TinyMCE 2.0"
I am using Kunena 1.5.9 with Joomla 1.5.15
Thanks

I would like to keep Kunena but am wondering if it might be better to go with vBulletin
