The Kunena team is thrilled to announce the third public beta release of Kunena 6.0, a native Joomla extension for Joomla 4.x. This is a development release and should be only be used for testing; this version is not recommended for live websites at this stage.

That's Good to know.
I'll take heed of of your answer.

P.S. I have played with Beta 3 on a test site, and I really like the new look.
Nice work!

P.S. The Powered By Button Plugin works on it.
But I'm sure you already know this.

Will I be able to upgrade from the Beta Releases to the Final Build?
Or Will that not be possible?

Currently 70 Kunena 5.2 strings are not translated for Italian language. These will then also be used in Kunena 6.0. In addition, more strings will then be added for Kunena 6.0 (I don't know how many).
Every member who creates an account on Transifex can apply to help translate Kunena into his language.

Thanks for the replies.
Anyway, I downloaded the beta 4, I don't know how! :-)
I have to say it's very good. I'll wait to make it public.
I'm trying to translate the files contained in the en-GB folder on the public side, it's a bit long, but I try.
Will it be much missing for the definitive Kunena 6?

The language package includes the current Italian translation for Kunena 5.2, but many strings are not translated. And an adjusted language package for K6.0 is not yet available.

Greetings.
I have installed Kunena beta 4 on joomla 4.03, configured everything and it seems to work very well.
The only problem, for now, is the Italian language, how can I increase the one used for joomla 3 Kunena?
Thanks.

Installing the most recent nightly build was much more successful. :)  It looks like I need to now assign the layout positions used by the default Cassiopeia template. Thanks for the help.

Hello,

It seems that it's missing the column sampleData on your table #__kunena_version, you can try with the next nightly when it will available on the bottom of this page : www.kunena.org/download

At your own risk, delete the table #__kunena_version and import it from a clean install of Kunena 6.0

I have tried this procedure:
  1. Update Joomla 3.9 to 4.0 - Goes well and newly updated site works well except for Kunena
  2. Install Kunena 6 beta 2
  3. Immediately front end is unreachable and backend displays error "missing column"
  4. Only way to recover is to install most recent Akeeba backup and start again.
  5. I can't remove existing Kunena because I will lose all my messages and history
Any solutions?

If you try now with the lastest nightly build, you don't have anymore the error "Custom install failure" when you have the tables from K5.2 presents in the database

it works with the new stable 4 too?

You mean an upgrade from K.5 to K.6? In principle, it should work, but that is not the case at the moment. This bug must be fixed first.

Thanks for the info, we are still working on Kunena 6.0 : www.kunena.org/forum/76-Official-Announc...eased-for-joomla-4-0

We have tested Kunena 5.2.6 on Joomla! 3.10 (it will released as stable in same time than J!4.0) we don't have issue with it

I had seen the release of Php 8.1 in beta but i'am waiting final release before to make tests with it, Joomla! 4.0 stick with Php 7.2.5 as minimal version it will depends on extensions to have requirements like Php 7.3.x or Php 7.4.x as minimal

Thank you!
Maybe mention in the release text that Blue Eagle 5 v 1.6.6 is required?
It only mentions 1.6.5 or higher.

The changelog for 1.6.6 also needs a minor update as it lists 1.6.5 twice.
