Kunena 7.0.4 Released

The Kunena team has announce the arrival of Kunena 7.0.4 [K 7.0.4] in stable which is now available for download as a native Joomla extension for J! 5.4.x/6.0.x. This version addresses most of the issues that were discovered in K 6.2 / K 6.3 / K 6.4 and issues discovered during the last development stages of K 7.0

Topics must relate to a currently supported version of Kunena. If you are unsure what is the current supported version of Kunena, please go to the download page.

If you are having problems then, for your own benefit, it would save us all a lot of time if you would kindly post your configuration report when you ask for help from this forum. If you do not post your configuration report we will not ask you for it but you will probably not get your problem solved, either.

in the add ons repository (not the plg_finder_kunena or plg_kunena_finder plugin from the Kunena-Forum repository) there is a plg_search_kunena plugin. From what I get from the readme it is used to display Kunena search results on the Joomla search results page.
Is this still needed or is this obsolete?

Normally, this should allow you to find Kunena posts using the Joomla search function. However, I can no longer to install this plugin on Joomla 5.3.4-rc2-dev (see error message). Xillibit must decide whether we want to keep this plugin.

Hi Rich,
I think, was hoping somebody could confirm, is that kunena posts are already displayed in the search result without this plugin? This because Kunena implements the smart search plugin (so all posts will be indexed and as such also displayed in the search results).

Not using the smart search myself so cannot confirm.

I think this plugin dates back from J3 (and earlier).

Hi,

The plugin search is like the search tab from kunena menu by display it anywhere else outside of Kunena. Since finder it isn't usefull now

I don't provide support by PM, because this can be useful for someone else.

I managed to install easysocial on Joomla 5.4 but only after enabling the B/C plugin. EasySocial is NOT ready for J6, it still uses Joomla 3 naming of functions (hence the Joomla 5 B/C plugin.) and is not name spaced

maybe as a thought: until Easyblog, easysocial, cb, etc. are ready for Joomla 6 (if they are ever going to make that move) we are holding Kunena back as the plugins for these extensions are part of the Kunena package. Would it make sense to only have kunena extensions in the package and the rest (like easyblog / easysocial, cb, etc.) as plugins in the add-on repository?

Hi,

I don't think for the followings : Easyblog, easysocial and Uddeim that will update sooner to be ready Joomla! 6.0; for Uddeim they had said that they won't do update for joomla! version beyond J!4.0 but they have updated for J!5.0. For CB i'am not sure i will ask them what they are going to do

Okay, so I guess it can be 'archived' then? I will not refactor it for Joomla 6

Very curious what their answer is going to be. What I learned is that the company responsible for these products (EasyBlog / EasySocial) was sold and the new owner is (according to reviews on the JED) totally missing in action: both with new releases as well as with support.

Hope I'm wrong
