Ok, I solved this.....why does changing the alias name resolve this issue?

The solution works in your case because you had two Kunena menu items with the same alias but these two menu items have different targets. You may still have two Kunena menu items, for all I know, but at least they have different alias names ... and different targets! One of them will work and the other one probably won't.

Let's suppose you had a menu item (with the alias X) and the target of that menu item was to show your Joomla profile, for example.

Now, suppose you have another menu item (with the same alias X) and the target of that menu item is to submit a new Joomla article, for example.

Aliases only work when you are using SEO. So, what happens when you click either of these menu items? The router won't know where to send the request and ... you get a page redirection error.

That's what has happened in every case discussed in this topic. This is a Joomla issue.

If i set 'mydomain.com/forums' in the joomla menu (kunena index as landing menu) browser gives recursive loop error. How we can set any kunena landing menu under 'mydomain.com/forums'??
