Sozzled, what makes you think that this blank preview issue is different from the one I've been writing about? It seems to be the same to me.

According to the code Russian nicknames should display just fine if #__users and #__kunena_* tables (#_ being your prefix) are in UTF-8.

Can you check which encoding those characters are using?

Hi Matias - I also see exact same issue with Greek utf8 characters.

I also have the preview issue not working here.

I also had the problem with no preview and tried to follow the advice in this thread. No luck. I did not try to switch off the SEF URLs and rewriting as they are important.

Then I realised that Kunena has it own SEO-setting in the Configuration's General tab. "Search engine friendly URLs". It was set to "No". I changed it to "Yes" and now my previews work as they should!

Hope this information helps someone else too...

After successfully migrating my site to a new top of the line Joomla hosting server, I discovered tonight that my forum is exhibiting the now infamous blank preview problem.

BTW, This is not the same issue I encountered before where attempting to save the post produces an error.

Now, the post seems to save fine. Its just the preview that isn't working. I checked my Kunena configuration and found that the Search Engine friendly URLs is already set to yes. All suggestions appreciated.
