If its the forums template you think may be causing the issue why not just change it back to default for a few minutes and see if it helps? I wouldn't think it would be the template though...

I tried changing it to default and your are right, it is not that. We added JRE Cache, so it is a bit faster for not logged in users, but for logged in users, very, very slow. Something is up, I just can't figure out what it is. :S

Ok, so we have made some adjustments, the rest of the site is now fast, but the forums are still very slow. Something must be going on with the forum. I am wondering if it is the template that was applied, but am not sure how to test that.

What else could it be, why would it be so slow?

Thanks for your help!

It looks like only cached pages are fast. Caching a site that is slow is the wrong solution. You need to fix the root cause of the slowness.

My guess is that one of the plugins or modules or mambots is giving you grief.

I would start looking at the servers error logs. Make sure they are clean and no error are in there. None.

If the error logs are clean, you have to disable plugins and modules one by one to see which one is causing the slowness.

The data volumes on your site are minimal. Less than 100 threads I could see. A well configured server should return the pages in less than 500 ms.

Only when you find the root cause of the slowness should you turn on caching.

Hope this helps!

One of the moderators must have moved the thread while you replied. I re-moved it to the new location for all the posts to show up. Sorry about that.

Please see my prior reply.
