Hi,

I subscribed to a couple of categories here a few weeks ago when the 1.6 version appeared here and have not received any email notifications of new posts and there have been some.

I signed up for

Common Questions

Is there something else I should have done or is this feature not working in this forum yet?

When I check my profile it shows that I am signed up to be subscribed to the above categories.

Since this is a feature that we have anxiously been waiting for, I want to make sure its working Ok before we try to go to the Beta.

Sprdoorman,

Keep in mind that the version you use is a beta version which may have features that do not work completely or as we all expect.

I myself as a moderator I do not get many messages from K.com and am subscribed to many categories and topics, then only have to wait to be improved versions so you can enjoy every one of the new features that we can find K1.6.

The work done so far by the developers is large and strong (sleep loss). And still working on improvements.

For my part, my recommendation is to test the Beta at local sites, not in live production sites. But if you're like me (risky) used K1.6 and you'll notice that besides being the best component of forums never seen before to Joomla! CMS, this new version breaks (in beta face) with all the schemes in question Forum component and also gives steps to the future like no other.

Excuse my English, is a bit rough and perhaps slightly understandable.

Best Regards.

Thanks, sprdoorman, for your question about whether the new "subscription to categories" feature works and, particularly, whether it works here at kunena.com. I subscribed to this topic and, I'm pleased to say, I received an email when alakentu's message was posted. That part of the Kunena subscription feature still works here, at least!

I'll organise a test to see if there are any email difficulties with the "subscribe to category" function and I'll report back later.

Hi, By any chance did you get time to run a test on this?

Thanks

Thanks for reminding me. I have subscribed to the General Talk about Kunena category. When someone (other than me) posts a new message to this category, I'll let you know if I receive an e-mail. ;)

There's your test!

I am using a category on the forum for a limited set of members of the client association - namely "Board Members" They want to use this forum for discussing topics amongst themselves and obviously it will be for registered board members only.

Their wish is that all board members will be notified when any new thread created by any board member is posted - as this will alert them to a new topic that needs their attention. Right now, when a board member posts a new thread, he/she is alerted automatically whenever anyone adds a reply; and the respondent can subscribe to the thread.

But I can't figure out whether it is possible to alert all board members whenever a new thread is created by one of their peers. Is this possible? How would I accomplish this?

Many thanks,
Andrew
