Is this only for privat groups or is it also for registered members - categories?

It's for all categories(I am not using separate groups in the forums).

It will not display activities for any forum posts at all. See in action at www.pilotincontrol.com . You can see the forum posts in the "recent posts section" at the top of the frontpage, but if you look at the activities, it does not show.

Also, log in as demo/demo to the frontend to see the regular jomsocial homepage activities feed(bc the frontpage is the activities module)
