Another person setup a testing server and did exactly what you instructed. It doesn't seem to be a Kunena issue. It is a CB issue.

We are tracking the problem here: www.joomlapolis.com/forum/146-general/19...n-admin-is-logged-in

No CB admin has weighed in on the subject yet (we are wondering if they ever will) but, at least it is documented on their site as a problem.

I have K 1.72 installed and noticed that every registered user on the forum has admin privileges. Below the user's photo is shows 'Administrator'.

What may be causing this?

I have additional info to add...

As a test I created a new user in joomla. I logged in as this user and this user can deleted and edit any message in the forum.

This is a serious security issue. Anyone have any idea why every new user in my forum is created as an administrator?

First of all, take your forum offline.

Second, look in user > options > component: Group for new registried.

It should be guest.

I have found it. Guest is not in the group list.

This is what is shows:

New User Registration Group -> Registered
Guest User Group -> Public
New user Account Activation -> Self

Yeah, sorry, it should be Registered.

I don't know, why all users are admins.
Maybe you can have a look in the Back-End in the user overview. What group are your isers in in the joomla user overview?

I do not think there is a problem with my Joomla security. Everywhere else on the site the security is correct. I have places defined where you need special access to gain that part of the site and that seems to be working correctly.

The problem seems to be directed only at the Kunena forum. Anytime a new user is registered they automatically get admin privileges on the forum.

Where are the Kunena admin privileges assigned?
