Sticky [Merged topic] The great, frequently-asked, "I cannot create a new thread in my forum" question

hello,
i recently installed kunena and i am very happy. My forum starts with cathegories. I just entered 2 cathegories. Both are open for editing. Why can I not post a thread as a user within these cathegories?

I also tried to uninstall kunena, deletet the kunena directory and reinstalled kunena - but it still keeps all settings. What shall I do?

After migrate the testsite to another provider all things works but no making a new thread in K 1.5.9 (NL). I have install version 1.5.11 (NL)but no result.
Also a new thread in a new catagory gives this problem. Please help.

Have you tried reinstalling kunena from the zip archive?

What version of joomla are you using ?

Do you have any special templates installed ? if so have you tried with the default_ex and rhuk_milkway templates.
