ALL the template_css.css has a line /strikethrough so it is not in the template_css.css

This is the default Joomla template. No issues in IE or FF.
Your RT template or some module is causing this.

If you feel you must hack the Kunena CSS I added a line to it that seems to solve one issue.

Sorry about the formatting issues.

There are two issues here being discussed:

1.) CSS formatting for categories marked as containing NEW posts
2.) As of 1.0.9 and 1.5.0a (Alpha) All announcements, forum headers and descriptions are bbcode - just like any regular post and support all bbcode functions and features. As such you no longer need raw html to format these. Simple go into your forum setup and replace </br> with a simple carriage return - just like in any post. It will also auto link urls and you can use virtually all bbcode tags in there.
