Search Results (Searched for: subscribe checkbox)

Thank you, your reply prompted me to try assigning the forum menu to the Cassiopia template and sure enough the check box appeared correctly. I then reassigned those menu items back to the site template, but set the 'load bootstrap css' setting to No in the Aurelia template. With that set to 'no' the checkbox appeared correctly if you replied to a post, but if you created a new topic the subscribe button was still 3 dots. It also caused a small issue with the display of the Kunena menu that appears at the top of the forum.

If you're willing to take a look and suggest a solution I'd be grateful, I've given you a direct link to a backup of the site where I initially installed Kunena to review it's features. (see private message for details).

I am using Kunena for the first time on a member's only forum and am currently working through some style issues.
One of these is the 'check box' that appears beside 'Check this box to be notified of replies to this topic.'
On my site, the check box appears as three dots in an oval, and my client has commented that it's not clear to discern whether you've subscribed or not.
I notice on this kunena forum, that there is just one dot in the oval. Even that would be better I think.

On other Kunena forums, it appears as an actual checkbox which would be ideal.

Could either of these changes be easily achieved?

Hi @Xillibit
Thanks for the quick solution.
I have found a new case to be able to reproduce the error, enter as a moderator or administrator and visit the profile of a user who is subscribed to categories (normally moderators) and visit the Subscriptions tab: forum/user/ID-username >> Subscriptions or forum /profile/ID-username >> Subscriptions. the message is the following:
Code:
Deprecated: Creation of dynamic property Kunena\Forum\Libraries\Layout\KunenaLayout::$checkbox is deprecated in \libraries\kunena\src\Layout\KunenaBase.php on line [i]574[/i]

Thanks

I am using Kunena 6.1.1 with NTS Kay 6.1.4.
I have disabled "subscribe" to new messages in my profile.
In the configuration on the subscriptions, the option "Allow subscriptions:" is enabled but :"Check subscription box" is disabled.

When I use Quick Reply then there is a checkbox to subscribe and it is checked.
If I use the normal Reply then there is no checkbox at all.
Is that a problem of the template or of Kunena?
When I create a new message then the checkbox is shown, and it is unchecked, as expected.

I´m sorry for the delay coming back to you. I didn't notice you reply when it came on the second page, neither did I get an email showing there was a reply. I've marked the checkbox: "Subscribe - Check this box to be notified of replies to this topic.". I think there might be an issue with this subscription.

Here are the screen dumps:

In principle, each user can decide for himself whether he wants to subscribe to something. There is a checkbox under the editor text field when writing a post wherewith the user can choose if he wants to subscribe this topic or not. As default is this checkbox marked for subscription, but you can change it in the configuration (tab Users -> Subscriptions).
In the backend Kunena -> Users you can mark users and add or remove subscriptions.
But you can't force users to abonements, because the users can unsubscribe the abos in their profiles.

PHP 7.3 issue was created by wsrs
Hi
I am on Kunena 5.1.19 and have just tried to upgrad to php 7.3 and got the following error message:
"Warning: "continue" targeting switch is equivalent to "break". Did you mean to use "continue 2"? in /website url/modules/mod_as_menu/helper.php on line 75"

Can anyone assist in fixing this issue.
Many thanks
Paul

PS
I have reverted back to php 7.2 because of the error message.

Go in the backend to Kunena -> Users and mark the certain users in the checkbox. On top, you have two options: "Delete all Category subscriptions" and "Delete all Topic subscriptions".
If you click on a username, you can also see what the user has subscribed.

I just tested with a brand new user, and the plugin is disabled.

Unfortunately, I can confirm that this is an actual bug, since I am sure the subscription to a particular topic is off, but if the category is subscribed the user receives the notification as if subscribed.

I tried again without having the category subscribed, and works as expected.

Just to clarify, I know how to test this, I have at least two users, and I also know that a topic/reply done by the user I'm using, won't send a notification to him/herself. I also know that a reply to a topic can subscribe to it if the subscription checkbox is left on. So, to make sure that doesn't happen, I don't even participate in the topic, I subscribe to it, tested a reply from another user, received the notification, unsubscribed, works, but then if subscribed to the category, no matter if I subscribe and then unsubscribe to the topic (at the actions dropdown), it still gets the notifications. Mind you that at the subscription details for the user (either by going to the profile, or at the back-office) don't have that topic subscribed (it has none).

Rich, could you please try to reproduce this behaviour and check if you have the same problem?
07 May 2020 19:17
Thanks for your reply, but let me clarify that the users agree with a category subscription when they have joined (this is a private forum for a company, for its employees). Even so, they can unsubscribe to the categories, and as you can read, hopefully to a given topic.

I did have a plugin for auto-subscriptions (named "ASK"), but I turned it off. Do you think it still works, even off? (does it change the settings for the topics in a permanent way?).

I tested every combination. I am positive that the checkbox was not selected, and I also tested by removing the subscription to the topic all together, but no luck.

I'm going to create a new user to test if it was related to the plugin.

Users can disable the option in their profile (Profile -> Edit -> Forum Settings). When subscription is disabled, indeed the checkbox remain but is not marked and the user get no mail.
This works for new topics/messages and categories, but currently subcribed topics/categories the users must unsubscribe.

There was a fix, but it worked not as it should. The fix has added only the subscribe checkbox on the edit page and you must mark this again. In the next release is this bug already fixed completely.

Hi,
I am running Joomla 3.8.12 and Kunena 5.1.4
When a user will change the default profile image to a new image, the user is clicking Edit profile.
Then go to Avatar-image.
Then the user will upload a new image with the correct size and file format.
Then he clicks at Save. The message that the profile is daved will apear.

But when you go back to the profile page. There is niothing changed.

The folder "media/kunena/avatars/users" has the rights 755.

What can I do to fix it?

This is my configuration overview:
