While doing the new update on Joomla! 2.5.9 the update never finishes.
Unable to access Kunena control panel - getting just:
Installing Kunena, please wait...
Preparing installation...

When accessing the forum page getting:
The Forum is currently offline for maintenance
Check back soon!

Can't stop the install process.

Please advise.

J! 2.5.9 is not supported by Joomla. Please update to the latest version of J! 2.5.x - currently this is J! 2.5.17 - and then try again the upgrade process for K 3.0.4.

Updated Joomla to 2.5.17 but the old Kunena install is still runing - can't stop it.

Will the forum be lost if I use new install package?

No. Your forum will not be lost if you stop the old installation and then start a new installation again.

I tried the new install via direct link, downloaded zip file, but i guess the old install won't give up.
I disabled all Kunena plugins but it's not helping.

How to kill the install process? :woohoo:

Enclosed is the screenshot from extension manager - shows that 3.0.4 is active: screencast.com/t/0sXFYMkCJPO

Try terminating the browser session or clear and purge the cache - logout then login again to your backend - and then try the installation again.
