Kunena 7.0.4 Released
The Kunena team has announce the arrival of Kunena 7.0.4 [K 7.0.4] in stable which is now available for download as a native Joomla extension for J! 5.4.x/6.0.x. This version addresses most of the issues that were discovered in K 6.2 / K 6.3 / K 6.4 and issues discovered during the last development stages of K 7.0
Question User subscriptions and forum performance
Again here are the symptoms.
1.New post
2.fill in text field
3. Hit submit, the page still shows it's reloading for about 10 sec, but my email notification comes after 3 seconds of hitting submit.
I also tried hitting submit and hitting the recent tab after 3 seconds and the new post does appear. Hardly a workaround.

For the benefit of other people looking at this topic, the "other topic" is Posts lose formatting after editing . The last information given to us wasninjastar wrote: As my other issue I updated ...
- J! 2.5.19 (which is outdated and not supported)
- K 3.0.3 (which is also outdated and unsupported)
- a Kunena template from JoomForest (which we know nothing about)
- a highly customised, complex, non-standard, complicated Joomla menu structure
We made a number of suggestions and recommendations but I do not know if you have acted on them.ninjastar wrote: This is still going on.
As far as I can tell, when I now look at your website, everything looks exactly as it did nearly 10 weeks ago when I first looked at your website.ninjastar wrote: I've tried all the default templates that Joomla comes with. Updated everything.
I am not sure how to respond except to suggest that you read Which came first? The template or the forum? If, indeed, reliability and performance are your number one and number two priorities, then everything else is secondary and that includes the template that you are using. If, however, your number one priority is how your forum looks then that's a different question.ninjastar wrote: Bought another template ...
Our suggestion is that you update to J! 2.5.22 immediately and that you also update to K 3.0.5 immediately and that you use the Blue Eagle template that was designed for K 3.0.5. Of course you do not have to follow this suggestion; that's your decision and you're quite entitled to do what you like.
If your problem was a problem that I was having with a website on which my business was dependent, I would be focusing all my efforts on resolving this problem as quickly as I could. I would look at everything involving custom changes, configuration settings, non-standard (third-party) "extras", etc. and return everything to the original "factory settings" in order to isolate the problem. I might even consider changing webhosting provider if I thought that my current webhosting provider's services were jeopardising my business.
So, I'm not sure what other free advice I can offer to you at this time.

My response clearly says that I've updated everything, perhaps you missed this part, but review my response again.
So, updated J2.5.22, updated K3.0.5 tried the standard Blue template and the problem still remains. It is one thing to say you can't figure it out and I'm fine with that, but to basically insinuate that I'm an illiterate moron is another issue.
I'm not even talking about "looks", I'm speaking of functionality and performance. Your solutions have been executed and nothing has changed. That's why I am asking again. Write a post, submit, 8 seconds to appear as a new post, wash, rinse and repeat. 6 months of it.
I never knew free advice was a burden to ask. Why don't we make this a pay per question forum?. I've spent hundreds of thousands of dollars on other sites I own and you're right, maybe I do have to pay in order to gain some respect.

I've been thinking about your problem a lot and I'm not sure that your problem involves user subscriptions. If the email arrives in your inbox before the web page is refreshed, this seems to suggest there some other issue involved.ninjastar wrote: Again here are the symptoms.

If the [subscription] email arrives in your inbox before your browser refreshes the page this indicates that the "subscriptions part" of Kunena is working satisfactorily. So, I'm not sure (after all of this time thinking about your problems) that the unsatisfactory broswer experience/performance has anything to do with subscriptions. On the other hand, you may be getting your email while your website is trying to send out other emails to other people who are subscribed to your topic/category.
As a matter of interest, do you know how many people are subscribed to the topic(s) or category in the case(s) when you experience these long delays? Are we talking about 5 people, 50 people or 500 people (or perhaps even more)?
I wonder if, in order to update everyone about your current situation, you could provide us with an updated configuration report. I'm not promising anything but it would really help us to know what we're dealing with. I assure you that I am, indeed, trying my hardest to help you as much as possible.
