The Kunena team has announce the arrival of Kunena 7.0.4 [K 7.0.4] in stable which is now available for download as a native Joomla extension for J! 5.4.x/6.0.x. This version addresses most of the issues that were discovered in K 6.2 / K 6.3 / K 6.4 and issues discovered during the last development stages of K 7.0
Question User subscriptions and forum performance
sozzled wrote: Now that we have a better understanding of your problem and I have changed the subject of this topic by removing the term "autosubscription" from it - because we are not discussing mechanisms by which your users were subscribed to topics/categories on your forum - let's try to unravel the reasons why your site performance seems to be degraded.
You may be right in concluding that your own experience suffers when you press the "Submit" button (in replying to a topic) is due to sending emails to all the people who are subscribed to that topic but I'm not 100% convinced about that.
Well, I've had the forum members post from various locations and they agree that the post times have come down significantly in the past 30 min. The longest thread went from 18-20 seconds to 6-9 seconds post time. Not great but better.
There is a whole article on improving site performance that you may like to read: Improving Kunena performance .
I will look at that again, thank you.
In addition to the things you may be able to do to improve site performance, you could also examine how you've setup your Joomla menu (see Kunena Menu issues ) because, as you would know, when you press the "Submit" button your site has to route the browser somewhere and the target of where to go back to is determined by how you've put your Joomla site menu together. So there's something you can look at there, too.
You're using K 3.0.3; that's your choice to use outdated software just as it was your choice to edit/remove certain information from your configuration report against our recommendations. That's another thing you might want to look at.
I've edited some .css files so I'll have to back them up before updating
You're using a third-party Kunena template that we have no knowledge of. You may want to discuss your performance problems with the author of that software.
It's a mobile template since I can't find one anywhere else. They've released a new version, I'll be updating that also

Are they both in Kunena settings?
Edit-
Nevermind I found them. They were both left empty. Does this make a difference?

Perhaps you were unaware that the K 3.0.5 Blue Eagle template made several improvements in the area of "responsive" template design. Have you tried it yet?ninjastar wrote: sozzled wrote:

I don't think your current settings make any difference to performance.ninjastar wrote:
