Kunena 7.0.4 Released

The Kunena team has announce the arrival of Kunena 7.0.4 [K 7.0.4] in stable which is now available for download as a native Joomla extension for J! 5.4.x/6.0.x. This version addresses most of the issues that were discovered in K 6.2 / K 6.3 / K 6.4 and issues discovered during the last development stages of K 7.0

I tried Jupgrade, but it lacked what it could do so there was a lot of manual work at the end. I then bought SPupgrade and did that on the test site over and over, until I had it right. I documented too.

I can't go to 3.0.X yet because of my PHP issue. I'm still trying to figure that out right now and at least I can try that on the one site (test25). That is already broken, so I can try to go from 2.0.X to 3.0.X.

The current versions are (according to what I have found):

JEvents 3.1.1
XMAP 2.3.3

I don't know the technical requirements for these things, however.

I need to keep xmap for SEO, but I can uninstall Jevents. That's one off the list to worry about. I can actually upgrade one now. Let me see.

Updates were available for most of the modules in question, however not all were fixed from the update. Jevents had a few updates and that didn't work, so I just uninstalled it. I'm removing one last one and I'll find a replacement for it later, at least on the test site where it doesn't matter

I'm going to upgrade to K3.0.X then because I meet the requirements and again it is on the test site so it really won't matter. Actually, that's what it is there for. I just wish I had a 3rd.

okay, I've got an update.

1) I removed all the extensions that complain about php 5.4
2) Attempted to upgrade to K3.0.X with using Control Panel -> Global Configuration - Kunena

received this error:

JInstaller: :Install: Cannot find XML setup file

3) Downloaded the 3.0.X version from Kunena and installed it using -> extension manager

Same result. Looks good in the back (admin control panel) as all categories and other data seem to exist, but in the front end all the replies and topics are 0

interesting...

At least I'm on the most current version so we should have a bit easier time troubleshooting.

This is a known problem for people who try the "automatic upgrade" method - we know about it - and the case history is fully covered in the topic Update from 2.0.4 ... directly to 3.0.1 or 3.0.0 first? . The same thing will happen if you attempt to upgrade from K 1.7.2, too. I recommend you use the method described in the upgrade guide in the Wiki.

I immediately installed it using the extension manager utility in the admin control panel. It looks good. ;-)
