Kunena 7.0.4 Released
The Kunena team has announce the arrival of Kunena 7.0.4 [K 7.0.4] in stable which is now available for download as a native Joomla extension for J! 5.4.x/6.0.x. This version addresses most of the issues that were discovered in K 6.2 / K 6.3 / K 6.4 and issues discovered during the last development stages of K 7.0
Question K 1.7.2 -> K 2.0.4: all my topics are missing
I said above I can't upgrade to the supported php version yet for 3.0. The issue is migrating from the version that I'm coming from. Not to where I'm going. Are we even sure 3.0 would fix it. I just want someone to fix the pointers or see what simple update could fix this

I have no idea. I suggest that you restore your site from the backup you took when you were running K 1.7.2 before all these problems occurred.tokenring wrote: Are we even sure 3.0 would fix it.
I do not have anything more to add to what we have written before. Perhaps another member of the community may have some ideas. You can wait for someone to respond with some ideas for you or you could do as I suggested, revert your site to the situation it was in when you had K 1.7.2 and try again to upgrade to K 2.0.4 to see if it overcomes the problem. It may fix it or it may not fix it. I really can't say with certainty.tokenring wrote: I just want someone to fix the pointers or see what simple update could fix this
Good luck.

If you haven't yet restored a backup, categories work just great:
www.rparc.net/index.php/forum/index
www.rparc.net/index.php/forum/29-discussion
The issue is that recent topics only displays one month of topics (setting that can be changed).
This is so strange that I have to do this. The DB has all the data, subjects, categories and posts... but we just can't see them and now I have to do another restore and go to a version that I don't support yet (PHP)
not good at all guys! I'm not disrespecting the team and/or component, but you have to know that is a bit off and I'm sure you'd rather hear here and not on the JED
In this situation of doing a normal upgrade along the approved upgrade path experiencing this issue should have some sort of work around other than "Hey so and so, try this instead - good luck!"
This is not an easy question for anyone to answer if we do not know the platform on which you are hosting your Joomla website. I have reviewed this topic from a quality assurance point of view and, to a large extent, we have been operating in an information vacuum with respect to the specific issues that you seem to be encountering in your operating environment.tokenring wrote: so i can go back to 1.7.2 and upgrade to 3.0 and there won't be a problem?
A lot of what Matias and I have written has largely been based on intuition and educated guesswork.
We would prefer to eliminate the guesswork factor in our responses and, for that reason, it assists us if people read the important advice that we give to forum users that you see printed at the top of this page. Specifically, it assists us if people provide their configuration report when posting messages on the forum.
As you wrote (in the post I quoted and in subsequent messages you have posted on the forum) the database seems to check out OK. The difficulty for us to understand what you mean by "0 topics in each category" (screenshots of your categories notwithstanding) is how you are viewing the forum. We have assumed that you are describing the Index view of your forum, rather than the Recent Topics view of the forum. I would like to clarify which view we are discussing.tokenring wrote: I've tried what you said. I can't get it to work. The category's are there, but there are 0 topics in each one. If I go to the DB I see the messages.

I assume he was talking about your website when he wrote that. He went on to write:[The index view works] just great:

In other words, because there has been no forum activity on your site for the last month, there are no topics to display. The issue is that recent topics only displays one month of topics (setting that can be changed).
Perhaps I have misinterpreted things, but I'm only trying to summarise the current situation as I read it.
From what you wrote early on in this piece, your database seems to check out OK and the SQL queries return the correct information. What I do not know is what, specifically, do you mean by "All my topics are missing" when, quite plainly - and as I am relying on information that Matias had that I did not have - the Index view of your forum shows these "missing" topics.
