I know someowne has mentioned that this is due to Joomlas login system

but my joomla login system on the front (home) page redirects me to the forum just fine..its the login button in the forum that doesnt work properly.

it redirect me to the home page not the forum home page.

please address this issue.
if it cant be done by Kunena, them maybe you guys should devleop; a login module to go with your forum software.

suggestions?

thank you

I believe you're refering to the joomla sessions problem?

I don`t know much about the coding, bit if kunena is mostly based on the old fireboard, is it not possible to simply update viet4777`s solution? (see page 1)

That worked quite well - would be a great addition to kunena.

this is what I know

my users can login from the home page using the basic joomla login module

I can easily redirect their logins and log-outs to the forums page.
by modifying the settings in the mod_login

but when a user tries to login using the built in login button located in the header of the forums page they get spit back out onto the main site home page.

so A user is browsing some forums maybe they arent logged in, and they want login and post, they have to go back to the main page after login?

that just seems silly, I have never seen a forum that does that.

why cant you just let us define in the Kunena control panel where we want users to go after login.

such as

- main site home page
- forum home page
- particular post or thread
- donation form

why cant we easily choose where our users go?
the joomla default login mod allows us to redirect? upon login or logout
as do most 3rd party login modules such as yoologin

I just dont understand why this was overlooked, its the first thing a user experiences when they login
