Question Kunena 1.6 - a moderator's view

Some developer news:
About 2-3 weeks ago I made a new installer for Kunena, which allows us to avoid some timeouts during installation and make installation more robust in general. It also allows us to install more than just the component -- currently it installs Mootools 1.2 plugin which is needed to get our JavaScript to work.
After that I've been working mostly with Joomla 1.6 and fixing issues together with Joomla team (I'm sorry for being silent in the forum!). It's already working fairly well, but it has still some broken or missing features, like missing tabs (our menu), J1.6 ACL and editing user details (from Joomla). There are also some bugs in J1.6 Beta, for example admin menus will be generated only now and then..
It looks like that K1.6 Alpha is about as ready as it can be -- most of our team members are already doing Beta stuff. Alpha release means that most of the new features has been implemented and fairly stable. So I expect it to be released any day now..
Public alpha release is not meant for production use, translators or template designers -- those are areas that will be improved before beta goes out. If you are a template designer or have fluent English skills, I invite you to help us to improve those areas. Everyone is also invited to join our testers team -- they have access to our daily builds and can talk directly with our developers.

As you will now have seen,
Kunena 1.6.0a Alpha Released!
. Before you all get carried away with the excitement of the moment, let's briefly pause to reflect on how you can engage from this point on.
As you may recently noticed, there has been a review of the forum categories here at Kunena.com. A lot of old material has been archived and categories have been streamlined to help users know where they can ask questions.
Now that K 1.6.0 alpha has been released, you're probably wondering where can you ask for support for this new version? Well, you can't ... What I mean to say is that you can ask for support, if you encounter problems, but you can't expect support if you've installed K 1.6.0a on your live, production website and you're in serious difficulty. In these cases, you may need to pay someone to help you out. So, I'll repeat the message we've been hammering throughout this entire discussion: K 1.6.0a is only for testing and for familiarisation. K 1.6.0a is not for live production use and is definitely not to be used if you've never used Kunena before!
Also, there isn't a category for handling K 1.6 support issues because it's not a supported product at this time. However, there is a category for K 1.6 general discussions and for reporting defects that you find but remember: please don't expect that the errors you find will be fixed, OK?

Can't say how excited I was to not only see that Alpha was released, but that there's a test site! I think that will reduce the temptation for people to play with it on live production sites.
Thanks for giving us the heads-up, Sozzled! I already have a couple questions, but I'll hold onto them until we set up an official place to discuss them.
I already like what I see!
