Having a serious issue here.

I can get to the Kunena Component and all menus EXCEPT the Forum Configuration. Also the public side of the forum is geting a 500 error.

Internal Server Error

The server encountered an internal error or misconfiguration and was unable to complete your request.

Please contact the server administrator, webmaster and inform them of the time the error occurred, and anything you might have done that may have caused the error.

More information about this error may be available in the server error log.

Additionally, a 404 Not Found error was encountered while trying to use an ErrorDocument to handle the request.

Any suggestions on where to start troubleshooting?

Thanks for your question, Bob, and (for what it's worth) I suggest that you look at some of the tips that we have given in the past about how to track down and resolve the cause of HTTP 500 Server Error problems: >>> here <<<

To reassure yourself that it's not something specifically involving Kunena, please upgrade any old, outdated Kunena add-ons that you are using (such as the three mentioned in your configuration report, for example).

Where to start troubleshooting? Joomla debug mode and Kunena debug mode.

Found that if I enable Kunena Login the site goes down, 500 error. Disable, we're back up. But no change on the Forum configuration menu. Would seem that would be part of the problem?

If Joomla debug wipes out your site then the problem is not caused by Kunena; in this case, Kunena is the victim rather than the offender.

I may be able to help and there's the usual-gang-of-suspects that most of us are quite familiar with. See your PM reply.

I'm sorry, late in the evening for me. Debug was trying to tell me about another small issue that was solved. That has been solved. I was not reading the error message in it's entirety. It does not generate any more error codes for me on the forum menus.

I have suspects in mind and answered your pm. Cheers and thanks for your help so far. I'll check back in the morning.

jPFChat - doesn't co-operate with Joomla's Mootools Javascript library - unsupported (and dead-in-the-water as far as development was concerned) the last time I looked. That's the culprit. Fairly sure of it anyway. Uninstall it.
