Right,
Having got all this to work, I was still unable to edit users profiles on the front page.

So i did a fresh install of Joomla 2.5 and a fresh install of Kunena. I did not add anything else and I used only the default templates.

But I am still unable to edit users profiles on the frontend. The button simply does not appear. Any ideas on where I am goin wrong?

That's all that matters. What this means is that the process I described works and, if it worked for you, it will work for everyone. B)

Your other issue is off-topic and It has been dealt with separately. Please, in future, keep to the subject of the topic. Thank you.

I've just attempted to transfer a j1.5 site to 2.5 with jupgrade and everything worked as planned except the forum (of course)...the problem basically is that while the new 2.5 site forum is there and these numbers appear to indicate that the data is available....the forum was/is a latest version of Kunena...upgraded today, before the migrate.

There is no data in the forum, no categories or posts?? I've read through this thread and can see that I might have to start over with the forum but... do you think there is a way to fix this? If I go into the backend to Components> Kunena (anything) I get this error:

Fatal error: require_once() [function.require]: Failed opening required '/home/XXXXXX/public_html/jupgrade/administrator/components/com_kunena/install/version.php' (include_path='.:/usr/local/php52/pear') in /home/XXXXXX/public_html/jupgrade/administrator/components/com_kunena/admin.kunena.php on line 48

Cheers for any help!

I have an exisitng Joomla 1.5.26 site which contains a Kunena 2.0.4 forum.

The existing site needs to be retired and my plan is to start a new site from scratch. I was going to use Joomla 2.5 but now I see Joomla 3 is in use so maybe I should just use that version.

My question is: If I start a new site using Joomla 2.5 or Joomla 3.0.3 can I migrate my existing Kunena forum and all its users and content to the new Joomla site?

Thanks much!

Jax

Hi,

yes, you can migrate all from J1.5 to J2.5 with some external tool (like phpMyAdmin) but you CANNOT migrate to J3.x. Kunena 2.x do not run on J3.x.
