I think this would be an ideal aim. Unfortunately, at the present time, the feature set for Kunena 1.6 has not yet been "nailed down"; when that happens it will be the right time to start work on documenting the new features. Does that sound fair?Oh. Do you can make even a simple documentation about new template engine to recognize new elements and hierarchy? If someone find time for this.

Yes yes. I do not talk about this for now, but when production and other more important things will be done.
And question to developers (testers?) about changes. Now I look at template of Agora forum and before I've seen Ninjaboard (without chameleon autoskinning). So as you know, kunena template system remains after competition. Do K 1.6 changing this situation? Or new template is only reworked/cleaned old template? Agora use TPL files which is great. Elements are placed in simply named files/folders. Maybe this is silly but with this solution I don't need to much documentation to get simple recognition in template.
So.. global changes in template was done in K 1.6 or we wait for it in K 2.0?
Thank you!

Changing templating is a huge set of tasks and K1.6 only starts the change by making templates immune to changes between the releases.
This basically means that all the code from the templates has been removed and on the other hand most fixed html elsewhere has been moved into templates. There has been a lot of restructuring, too, to make templates easier to work with.
Next version will move these old-style templates into Joomla MVC model. We are open to all suggestions.
