Hi Linuus,
I just don't get it : I provided a full working solution... if you really wanted to, you could migrate by yourself.
I will do the final migration for my community in a short while with upper mentionned method. It will work and do the trick.
What do you expect more in the meantime ?

Sorry, I didn't mean to bash at the developers, I'm sure they are working hard. And this is a free (and great) component so I don't have any expectations
I was only a bit too excited about the migrator component. I thought it was almost ready for release, and then you hear nothing for almost a month.
So, I will keep my old forum locked for viewing only and then the users have to re-register into my Joomla site. Actually that is not a huge problem. The registration process is pretty short and I have added some fields for JomSocial etc. that I'd like them to fill out anyway so
I do hope this component will be released sooner or later

Hi
This is my current web site set up..
Joomla and PHPBB bridged using p8pbb blogomunity.com - there is an Option under the tools section to import users from Joomla to PHPBB and from PHPBB to Joomla..
Because of the above option does that mean I do not need to map the user ID's from PHPBB to Joomla?
I have carried out the converting of PHPBB to Kunena on a test web site using 168 members and it seems to be working fine without carrying out the sync part..
test web site is > herehttp://96680.webhosting37.1blu.de/Development/foren3.html
Any advice info would be appriciated...
EDIT: Everything seems to be working fine - All I did was follow these steps here - But you need the Bridge for it to work..

Hi MartinD,
Just make a quick test: look at your posts and another member's ones. Check if the poster name is really the author, if the link is leading to the right profile. If that's so, then no need to make the user Sync.
4-5 posts on top of this one you can find a more detailed step by step if something's wrong.
Good luck.

Hi - Thx for reply..
Every thing seems fine, only minor problem is the Emoticons are not showing even though I have moved the images across...

Unfortunately I had to postpone phpbb converter as I didn't get the user import to work reliably in time -- so I had to move ahead. In general I (myself) would wait for Kunena 1.6 anyway, before converting phpbb3 forum to Kunena.
In the mean time, if someone wants to write some code, please see this:
docs.kunena.com/index.php/Developing_in_Eclipse
Instead of trunk > 1.6, just use trunk > kunenaimporter
