OK. I have received a .zip file from my server guy. It contains the database sql extracts you requested. The file is about 17 KB in size. Let me know if/when you'd like me to post it here for your use.

*maniac* and *sozzled*--

I have been searching for an answer to the very same problem, and honestly I'm disappointed that it has affected someone else -- I was really hoping it was just my site :(

I'm really looking forward to a solution to this problem. I have almost 700 boards/categories, so I really don't want to have to "overhaul" and re-do everything. The way my website is set up is that we are definitely going to need the capability to add and remove boards as time goes on. I have a car-related website, and the main structure of my forums is by Car make/model. As new car makes/models come out, I need to add boards for them. As car makes/models go "out of style," I need to be able to delete them.

Click "forums" at the top. The main categories under "Alphabetical by Make" should, obviously, be alphabetical. I had it all fixed at 11pm last night. When I logged in this morning and added ONE sub-forum to a Make's category, everything got jumbled up. This happened yesterday around 11am as well, and I spent 6 hours reorganizing so that the forums would be alphabetical again.

Basically, to sum it up, I just need the Boards to stay alphabetical, and Child Boards to stay in the order I put them. Individual topics inside individual Boards and Child Boards can show up "newest first".

Thanks *sozzled* for helping *maniac* with this -- hopefully I can benefit from your help as well.

**EDIT**

I thought of another way to describe what I'm saying (and I think this is what *maniac* wants as well (correct me if I'm wrong):

When you visit the main page of Kunena's forums ( kunena.com/forum ), look at their Categories. How do they get "Common Questions" to stay at the top, followed by "Installation, Upgrade and Migration", followed by "Support," etc. etc. etc.??

That's what I need. Thanks again! :)

This is EXACTLY my issue and what I have been trying to describe. Thanks Vroomlife for hitting the nail on the head!

In my case, I have a College Ride Sharing site. I want my States listed alphabetically and then the colleges within each state also listed alphabetically. Then, within each college, I have several child boards that I want in a very specific order. That order will be repeated and be the same for each college. Right now I have 477 boards (about 10 boards per college) and like Vroomlife, everytime I add or delete even 1 board everything gets jumbled and I then spend several hours getting things back the way I had them. I plan to add additional colleges over time so this situation of having to re-sequence each time will not be workable.

In the past I have used PHPbbs and I did not have this issue. However, I really like the look and feel of Kunena better and of course, it works directly with Joomla and JomSocial so it is my software of choice here. Please understand that I am not trying to make any comparisons or statements about which software is better here, I'm just saying that I know that what I'm trying to do can in fact be done. I just hope it can be accomplished in Kunena.

Thanks for listening to my ramblings! And thanks Vroomlife!

Not a problem, maniac. I agree about it being possible -- I've used myBB before and it's a lot simpler but doesn't integrate with JomSocial/Joomla :( , and Kunena has obviously figured it out for their own site.. there has to be a way! What's your website URL?

Thank you, vroomlife, for your contribution.

To summarise, there does appear to be a design flaw in Kunena that affects the integrity of display order of forums when a new forum is added or an existing forum is deleted. This should not occur and it is something that the development team is currently investigating.

The only explanation that I can offer as to why this site's forums appear to remain consistently well-ordered is because there have not been any changes made to the structure for over 6 months.

Christina,

You can check out my site at:

www.collegewagontrain.com/cwt2

You will need to register (free) in order to see all the forums and the structure that I have set for them. Let me know what you think. I'll be checking out your site later today.

My site is not 'live' yet and there are still a couple things I am tweeking. I'm hoping to go 'live' this weekend...with or without the Kunena fix.

Mike
