Yep, core sef function is pretty solid, could be more customizable? sure, those numbers there are not nice enought, but the URL's are pretty readable, and does not comsume extra CPU...

Well for some of us, it's unusable as in core joomla there isn't support for transliteration. There are solutions which require core hacks, as I know.
Sh404sef is very good replacement for joomla core sef. From their settings you can see, there are better solutions for sef as joomla core gives out of the box.
Sure, it needs good knowledge of what you are doing...

Ok, I'm a bit stuck with this now and I've figured out what the issue is and would like some help.

I have a site that is ready to have legacy mode switched off. All components, modules and plugins are native. I deactivated legacy mode and got the same error....direct access not allowed. I worked through switching off plugins and found it was the sh404SEF plugin causing the issue.

I found this odd, so uninstalled sh404SEF and then installed it again. The site worked.

Then...and here's where I found the catch...I then started adding into /components/com_sh404sef/sef_ext, the extensions that I needed for various components.

The moment I added in the file "com_kunena.php" that I had got of the joomlacode site, the site once again stopped working.

So not being technical, I'm guessing that sh404SEF is native, but the extension I have to add in to it, isn't...and that's what the issue is?

My problem is that I'm also finding it hard to find the exact best location to get a more up to date version of the "com_kunena.php" file needed to work with sh404sef in native mode?

Cheers, Phil
