@laoshr: do you get the same situation as reported in the first post in this discussion topic? May I also ask, what version of Joomla are you using? Can you provide a link to your website? Thanks :)

Yes, no errors just nothing in the search results. I'm using joomla 1.5.10. The forum is for clients only and I have no guest access at this time. At least I'm not exactly sure how to create one with out having them go through the subscription process. I will look at it and see if I can just open the forum to the public for a bit.

Here is a link. I opened it for you to get in. It looks like now there are some errors when I opened it to everybody.

OK, for others coming in late, laoshr's problem is very different to what was reported in the original message ... but, in lahoshr's case, there is a solution (see UNOFFICIAL List of solved K 1.0.10 problems ).

I'm having the same issue with the search not working.

Actually, that wasn't true. In laoshr's case the search returned no results but that's where the similarity ended. In the original posting there was evidence of coding errors.

laoshr later wrote:

... no errors just nothing in the search results

No errors! That's different.

So why were there no results? Perhaps this was case of Kunena behaving correctly because there were no messages that matched the search criteria! We will never know because other things have now changed.

One must be very careful in writing "I have the same issue as someone else". :) Fixing laoshr's problem - a known problem with a known solution - does not help to fix haris66's problem which, I suspect, is caused by a template conflict.

Hello,

It's strange, there are no errors. I think there are errors, but they aren't displayed, go in joomla backend, in configuration panel and server, then choose for error reporting maximum.

this is the error:
Fatal error: Call to undefined function mb_substr() in C:\dbjoomla\components\com_kunena\lib\kunena.search.class.php on line 264

btw I have also installed the search plugin which integrates kunena with Joomla's search.
