If you're using Community Builder, upgrade it to 1.2.1 first, and then upgrade Kunena to 1.0.10.

But unfortunately I got the problem with 1.0.10, too :)

I have CB 1.2 installed but never used it. so if I uninstall CB then should it work?

Thank you, haris66. I'm not surprised. As I stated earlier ( #17762 ), I had my suspicions about the cause of your problem (but, of course, I was talking nonsense!)

@haris66: I suggest you upgrade to K 1.0.10 and use the default_ex template. B) There's a known problem with K 1.0.10's search function - see the official list of known problems and workarounds . I'm pleased to see that we were helpful to you ... eventually! :cheer:

I have upgraded to 1.1.10 but still the same issue. I uninstalled CB and then installed Kunena. I am using default_ex with two different images.

Fatal error: Call to undefined function mb_substr() in /xxxxx/xxxxx/public_html/components/com_kunena/class.kunena.php on line 1289

Same error here with any search. Fresh Joomla 1.5.10 and Kunena 1.0.10 install
Meet all the PHP, MySQL requirements :(

Tried all the fixes and nothing.
