Can I upgrade from fireboard 1.05 straight to kunena 1.08, or do I have to install 1.07 first and then go to 1.08 ?

You should be able to no problem. Don't quote as I haven't used FB in almost a year. In any case backup your database first. I won't be held responsible if something goes wrong.

Incorrect. Nothing gets removed from the database. Only files from the server. This morning I uninsalled 1.0.7 and reinstalled 1.0.8. Nothing is lost. BUT...if you are unsure you should ALWAYS make a backup of your database before you do anything.

Tks for your reply, so can I do it as:
- Backup Joomla database (by JoomlaPack for example)
- Login in Joomla by administrator (<joomla root>/administrator/)
- Extension/Uninstall Kunena Forum
- Download 1.08 version at here
- Install again.

Is it correct?

Thanks in advance.
