Can I upgrade from fireboard 1.05 straight to kunena 1.08, or do I have to install 1.07 first and then go to 1.08 ?

Yes same upgrade procedure. Our upgrade code does all the necessary incremental.

Just to clarify things, if you are upgrading from fireboard 1.05, I don't need to install 1.07, I just need to install 1.08. Sorry, I'm just being cautious.

Yes - If you have 1.0.5 installed - make a backup - uninstall FB - install 1.0.8 - make another backup - done.

All incremental steps in between (1.0.5 to 1.0.6b to 1.0.7b to 1.0.8) are handled by the installer.

Hope this helps!

Thanks, just wanted to make quite sure I was doing things correctly.

One other thing, does this new software run quicker than the old fire board, or does it really depend on how how many postings you've got on the forum?

I have upgraded from Fireboard to Kunena and my users claim that it is running faster. However I was using Dorona Brown with FB and now am using default_ex, and suspect that this may be something to do with the increased speed as well.

Yes it will definitely run faster. And there are more optimizations to come in future releases.

That's music to my ears. My most popular site sometimes runs quite slowly which is very annoying. At the moment, I'm running fire board 1.04. I've updated all my other forums and am plucking up the courage to do this one. It gets a lot of traffic and I'm terrified something will go wrong. Nothing has gone wrong on the other sites so I don't see why it should on this one.
