xlgolffari, i had the same problem because i had used in fireboard (although it was uninstalled)greek translation files. Into images directory there is still been kept the fbfiles (avatars etc). Rename that and install kunema again (uninstall it first)- your installation is going to be successful with no errors.

Of course this is not the end of troubles... For me it worked when I got rid of all crap from Fireboard in MySql (I deleted through cpanel all jos_fb_* entries). Of course you do that when you want a new clean installation, since all old messages from fireboard were deleted also.

PS : I wonder why don't they have an stand alone edition and one as a fireboard upgrade (this one seems to be the second).
I believe if you use only English (who does?) there is no such mess (it says that in documentation but it doesn't say what to do in case your language is not English).

Cody:
There is a lot of post about how to upgrade in this forum, just search. Further have a look at the docs.kunena.com/ section. And don't forget to read the readme.txt within the kunena package.

Regarding CB, I don't think this is 100% working yet, but again search this forum and you will find several solutions. (There is a dedicated child board for CB, under the "other extension" if you go to category view.

You have to be a bit more specific about the template you are using or post a thread in the template category!

My advice: set up a test site, where you duplicate your live site and test the upgrade and come back to this forum with the problem you stumble upon. Do some research on your own before posting...

Hi all!

This thread is quite big (44 replies) so I'm sorry if I'm repeating an obvious question here.

I have fireboard 1.0.5RC2 on a website and I would like to upgrade to Kunena if possible.

My questions:

1) Regarding the template, I've done a custom template by tweaking a LOT such as removing many unnecessary (for this project in question) options and css changes and some hacks etc..
Will I be able to drop my template folder and use it flawlessly ?

2) And as far as I remember, the hacks I did are only in this specific template folder, or at least I hope so :S If not, once I find the different files (if there is any), will I be able to drop them on Kunena as well?

It seems that upgrading to kunena is not a big deal, specially that my site doesn't have topics nor posts (not in production yet, but will be soon) - so I am not worried about that.

My main concern here is this template that I've done. Is it possible to keep it? Can you think of any problems that I might encounter?

Hi core2,

I looked into the forums and tried to post in the right place (even avoided creating a topic!)
I guess I failed anyway :P

Thanks for the link. Is that FAQ complete?
