Upgrading to Kunena was created by Oscarfishlover
At the moment, I'm using fire board 1.04. I believe that to upgrade to Kunena you first have to upgrade to fire board 1.05. I cannot find the upgrade instructions that tell you how to upgrade to 1.05. I've tried posting on the fire board forum but it won't let me for some reason. If someone could point me in the right direction, I would appreciate it

Hi Oscarfishlover! This has been answered a few times. It is relatively simple but you must follow the instructions and works the same regardless of Joomla version.
Here is the thread with the instructions in it. www.kunena.com/forum?func=view&catid=16&id=3136#3153 If you still have problems with the conversion, please do not hesitate to let us know.
Thanks!
EDIT:
Sorry I forgot to add the link to the thread. It's there now.

Sorry, it's probably staring me in the face but I can't find the thread about upgrading from Fire board 1.04 to Fire board 1.05.

Re-read my post above. I forgot to add the link. I'm sorry about that. Also, read this. I believe it is the original thread regarding this issue.

I think I am seriously missing something (a brain I think) I installed fb_converter into the fire board 1.04 Forum. Everything went perfectly okay, no errors. So I then uninstall it but the forums stayed at 1.04. What is supposed to happen after I have uninstalled fb_converter?

Once the converter is ran, you have to install the next version of forum. Since you have converted the data, you should be able to just uninstall Fireboard and install Kunena, then remove old menu link to Fireboard and create new menu link for Kunena. Remember also that if you were using any modules for Fireboard like the latest post module, etc. that they most likely won't work anymore so you will need to search the board here for newer versions of the modules or rework them yourself to be compatible with Kunena.
Hope this answers your question... If not, please don't hesitate to post again. We'll keep going until we get it working.
