Install Error was created by mda1125
I'm using Joomla 1.5.9

When I attempt to upload the component, all I receive is an "Install Error." No other details. I've tried the installation from 2 different computers so I'm really not sure what to look for and where for more details.

This did install on Joomla 1.5.6 without any issues.

Just curious, do you have legacy enabled?

Can you install any other component? This is a Joomla error, could be permission issue.

I can... but in the past if it's a new component, for some reason I have to change the permissions to 777 to get it working.

But normally in cases like this, it tells me right off that it cannot write to such and such a directory.

In the past, when I've had issues installing components, normally I get the folders or directories that Joomla was unable to write to at the time.

Just for the heck of it... I changed the permissions on the Components folder to 777.

Exactly same error. I changed the logging to Maximum and didn't see anything different in the install component admin section of Joomla.
