I assume you're referring to "Path to Temp Folder" found in Global Configuration > Server.
Mine is set to "/home/[username]/public_html/mm4/tmp".
Is it possible to manually uninstall K5... would that allow K6 to then install?

I don't know if this is a good idea. It may not be possible to install anything at all. Is there another extension you need to install to be able to see this?

I meant that if you try to install any other extension, you can see if installations in general do not work.

All other extensions work fine. I updated / reinstalled many before getting to Kunena.

Maybe it helps if you write the complete tmp path into the configuration.php.
