After the installation failed. I looked in the extension manager while searching to the Kunena keyword, and found that some of the version 3 elements were successfully installed. I am attaching a screenshot. please have alook at the version column.
Tnx

What do you mean "I tried installing through the upgrade manager in Kunena (as opposed to the extension manager)"? Did you follow the
K 3.0 Upgrade Guide
or did you not follow the guide?
I do not know what the "upgrade manager in Kunena" is.

If you read the guide, you will see that "Method 2" is not 100% reliable and, if there is problem, the "automatic upgrade" mechanism in J! 2.5 can break your site and prevent future upgrades. The problems with the J! 2.5 "automatic upgrades" have been documented over a long time. It is possible that the problems you are now having were because of using an "automatic upgrade" in the past. I do not know if this is the case; I am only telling you what I know.
You are in a mess and all my experience tells me that you could be spending weeks trying to find an answer on your own. We're always ready to try to help but the solution ultimately depends on how important - how much your existing forum is worth to you - your forum is to your website.
The problems you are having began because you did not maintain your website. You are using - from what you have told us - a version of Joomla that became obsolete over 1 year ago. You are using a version of Kunena that, likewise, became obsolete over 1 year ago. You have upgraded some parts of your site without upgrading other parts of your site first.
I have done what I can, within the limitations of a web-based discussion forum, to assist you. It is, perhaps, unfortunate that no-one else has been able to suggest something that improves on the suggestions I've offered to you.
If you would like my honest opinion, I suggest that you consider obtaining professional assistance. I would say that it's theoretically possible to get your forum working again but it's going to take a lot of time to make this happen and, as the saying goes, time is money. So, if you have the time then I wish you all the very best in figuring out what went wrong.
Apart from what I have written, I do not know what else to say.

Hi there,
I have noticed that I began getting this error on other instances as well. for example, installing Easy blog on a brand new j3 installation.
So, I called my service provider and he told he was aware there was a problem with the server and he intends to move my account to a different server early next week.
I will give it a chance, since I believe this may be it!
I will keep you updated.
Cheers

Hi,As expected, it worked like a charm in the other server. So, the bottom line is that it was cpu\memory\hardware issue. Thanks!
