ok. Have made settings to plugins as requested.

As I'm a bit nervous about screwing up something, let me recap what I believe you want me to do.

1. Go to Menu Manager in Joomla.
2. Select Forum menu item and permanently remove it be selecting Trash (and thus any submenu items will be deleted).
3. Purge trash.

4. Go to Dashboard and select Tools.
5. Click Menu Manager.

Now I'm guessing something will be different once I have removed my menus, because currently what I see is a screen that shows the status of the menus and shows no conflicts and that's it - no option to rebuild menus. Correct?
Confused because video showed Trash while mine shows restore option.
