Thanks, but not really. Because you can write in categories too, i think :S

You can not.
On this Forum "Kunena - To Speak!" is a category (the first, catid=1) and you can not post in this category. It is the only one visible to normal members. You can create other categories (parent = no) in your forum and won't be able to post in them too.

So, i have made screenshots of the example files from Kunena. As you can see on picture one

SAMPLE BOARD is LEVEL 1 Catebory and the Container of

----Level 2 Category
with Childboards level3 Category C, B, A

----Sample Locke Forum (seems to be Level 2 , too)
----Sample Review on Forum (seems to be Level 2, too)

If you forget the restrictions (moderated and locked) the only difference here is:
Only in SAMPLE Board (Level 1 Category) it is NOT possible to post.

As you can see on next screenshot, it is possible to post into LEVEL 2 Category.
So, if you follow the logic under the linked post

Before you can post you must create Categories and Forums.
To create a Category, select 'New', then choose 'No Parent' as a Parent. A Category serves as a container for Forums.
To create a Forum within a Category, select 'New', then choose the Parent Category in which the Forum should be located.

Only Sample Board Level 1 Category is a Category, all the others are Forums, ist that right? Or rephrasing: Only that "Thing/Category" is a real category, that has no parent.

Just like my site: www.hobbykwekers.nl/component/option,com...id,188/func,listcat/

Category's:
Algemeen
Vissen
Aquarium en Techniek
Foto Album, Boeken, Links...
etc

In a Category you make forums. Just like Sections and Category's in Joomla, you cant put an article directly in a section (=Category in Kunena), you have to create a joomla Category to put your article in (=Forum in Kunena).

If the explanation is really so easy, that only that are categories, that have no parent, why nobody can explain it in this easy way? :woohoo:
