Question Sampledata

 New install of K 6.1.3.1 on Joomla 4.3.4
Sample data does not install and the plug in appears to be corrupt, the mouse over says PLG_SAMPLEDATA_KUNENA_XML_DESCRIPTION
There is no sample data link on the Joomla  Dashboard or in the Kunena dashboard

I have tried reinstalling 6.1.3.1 numerous times and the Sample Data simply WILL NOT INSTALL no matter what I try.  I did find a tutorial about moving the database table from one Kunena install to another but I can't find that again.  Can ANYONE help get this figured out??

That's strange just did a test here (wamp)local pc And everything is neatly installed and works fine
was it a clean install for you? or in existing joomla site ?

it is ok on my wampserver but not on live site.  it might be a PHP issues.  wamp is PHP7.4 and live site is PHP8

then maybe compare server setting of hoster with wamp version ?

does the hoster of your live site have not the possibility to choose a higher php version?

 

I have done that and there are no apparent differences. I can change the PHP versions but I have Joomla 4 that needs PHP 8 and since the wamp installs ok on 7.4. That would be a problem. So there is something about PHP 8.1 that Kunena does not like or needs differently. I can't find any info on specific PHP settings or options that it needs.

Where would I find just the Sample Data plugin by itself?  I tried extracting in from the zip and installing that, but it did nothing.

if you unzip pkg_kunena_v6.1.3.1_2023-08-21.zip on your PC you will find this plg_sampledata_kunena_v6.1.3.1.zip in folder packages

I uninstalled the plugin and install the one you provided.  Still does not work.  See attached screen shot  of the plugin install
