Kunena 7.0.4 Released
The Kunena team has announce the arrival of Kunena 7.0.4 [K 7.0.4] in stable which is now available for download as a native Joomla extension for J! 5.4.x/6.0.x. This version addresses most of the issues that were discovered in K 6.2 / K 6.3 / K 6.4 and issues discovered during the last development stages of K 7.0
Topics that are moved into this category are generally considered to be closed. Users may want to add additional information but these topics should not be resurrected in order to discuss new problems or unrelated matters.

Again, agree with your above post. Our steps were slightly different. There was a (very) old website, and after some discussion we decided to rebuild it from scratch in Joomla. There was no need for any add-on.
After a while, people started to discuss activities and plan them using the guestbook, which was not handy. So I suggested to use a forum. I am familiar with phpBB2/3 fora but couldn't find a way to integrate it easily in Joomla. After some searching I discovered Kunena and was pleased by the ease of use. Installation went very quick and everything worked....
You are right about the need to plan. However: sometimes things don't go the way you predict them (in our case: no one needed a forum until they discovered the big advantages of it).
One last thing: there is a difference between several browser. I place the pics as attachment. Notice the page indicators? In Firefox and Chrome the're OK, in IE8 they are outside the page..
