Kunena 6.2.6 released

The Kunena team has announce the arrival of Kunena 6.2.6 [K 6.2.6] which is now available for download as a native Joomla extension for J! 4.4.x/5.0.x. This version addresses most of the issues that were discovered in K 6.1 / K 6.2 and issues discovered during the last development stages of K 6.2

Before posting in this category, please read sticky topics and, as general background, My Joomla site template makes a mess of Kunena .

If you have questions about third-party templates, please use the User-written Templates category or contact the author directly. This category should only be used for questions about templates developed and supported by the Kunena project.

The only problem I encounter with the current solution, is that if you access the link via the index, It produces different link and menu than accessing it via the linked category. It is also present here in Kunena.

Good point. Tricky one to solve but, I'm guessing, if you know your way around .htaccess you might be able to modify some URL rewrite rule or use an SEF rewriter (e.g. sh404SEF) for each case where you use different menu item aliases. There would be costs, though, to fix this issue; the main cost would be in performance, especially if you have a very large forum. My personal view is that it's probably not worth the effort because, let's face it, no-one usually cares what URL they use to get to what they're after just as long as one URL works. Consider this a bonus: this way you can now have two!

Looks like there's a small bug in the routing. Good catch!

Thanks. Will the fix be included in the release of stable version?

I've reported it as a bug, so if we find a way to fix it, it will be there.

Hi there,

been reading this whole thread from start to end and again and still can't solve this problem.

i hope i'll manage to describe my specific problem and you can answer to my specifics:

background:
Joomla: 1.5.26
Kunena 1.7.0 | 2011-08-29 | 5135

i have 2 Joomla menu items.
both are set as "Kunena Forum: Entry Page".

first joomla menu (FORUM1):
Default Menu Item: set to "Index1".
Allowed Categories: Selected "Section1" (not a category. a section with the name "Section1" that have many catogries)

second joomla menu (FORUM2):
Default Menu Item: set to "Index2".
Allowed Categories: Selected "Section2" (same as Section1 - not a category)

when i click in the frontend of my website on both "forums" (FORUM1, FORUM2) i see both Section1 and Section2.

in the forum menues i see that there is a differance:
FORUM1 displays "Index1" and FORUM2 displays "Index2" but all the section are shown in both forums.

it seams that no matter what i select in the "Allowed Categories" it has no impact on the frontend display.

help would be greatly appriciated.

thanks!

EDIT:

just found something that may be a progress.

in the "Kunena Menu" i selected "Index1" and changed it's "Parent Category ID" from BLANK to "Section1"
in the "Kunena Menu" i selected "Index2" and changed it's "Parent Category ID" from BLANK to "Section2"

then in the frontend i can see that "FORUM1" displys only "Section1" and "FORUM2" displays "Section2".

but there is another question:
how can i shows multiple sections. for example:
FORUM1 will display both "Section1a" and "Section1b"
FORUM2 will display both "Section2a" and "Section2b"

i can't do that trick as before because i can select only one Category ID.

thanks...

K 1.7.0 is not supported means exactly that. We do not answer questions relating to installations where K 1.7.0 is installed. If you have a question about Kunena then please ask your question about a supported version of Kunena. The only supported version of Kunena at this time is K 1.7.2, and this also means that you need to be using the Blue Eagle template.

It would also help if you read What information should I include when I ask for help (including how to post my configuration report)? . This additional information may help us to understand what you have done on your site.

[strike]And, I should also add, that I'm not sure if you can select multiple categories to define your separate "forums"; I have my doubts that you can do it.[/strike] You can select multiple categories.
