Got an odd one.

Had this problem with K 1.5.x and now seems to persist in K 1.6

When I create a post and use bbcode to make something bold it goes fine when creating a post.

Then if I edit a post it changes all the bold bbcode tags to html "strong" tags, and they need to be corrcted back to bold bbcode tags, this happens every time a post is edited. Not sure yet if the problem exists for other bbcode tags.

Is this Kunena doing this or do I need to be looking elsewhere in Joomla for the cause?

This is most likely caused by another Joomla plugin that adds "support" for bbcode to Joomla editors. It takes what Kunena puts on the screen and replaces the bbcode tags on output with html tags. There are a few plugins in Joomla land that will do that. Try to disable the plugin, as there is literally nothing we can do about that, as out output gets overridden outside of our control.

Hope this helps!

We love stars on the Joomla Extension Directory . :-)

Thanks, understood.

I just wanted to verify its not any kind of a known bug or issue before I go digging for the cause :)

Got the sod!

You may be interested to know that the "Rokcandy" component from Rockettheme was set to substitute the html tag for the bold bbcode element. There may be others it will interfere with. You might want to check this out.

If I use BBCode in the creation of a post, and then return to edit that post. All the BBCode changes to HTML... then I have to go through the whole post and change everything back to BBCode.

For example, bold marks change to <strong>, ordered lists change to <ol> and list items change to </il>, etc.

Is there a way to resolve this?

Hello,

How to reproduce the issue ?

I think that you are using an obsolete version of kunena latest module which ins't comaptible with kunena 1.6.0.

I don't provide support by PM, because this can be useful for someone else.
