G'day, Roger. I discussed your problem with the developers last night and I'm sorry that they did not reply directly to you. Your problem almost certainly unrelated to folder/file permissions and we do not encourage setting of 777 for anything under any circumstances. The recommendations in Securing Kunena are adequate for most purposes, assuming that the files/folders are owned by Apache:Apache.

In my discussion last night, it was suggested that your problem is not caused by Kunena but, rather, it is generated at a much deeper level because the error message is generated by PHP. What I have been asked to do is to ask you if you could provide us with a test account so that we can look at the problem more directly. Please use the "confidential" tags (as we talked about) when you post the username/password for this test account. Thanks

Most of these problems are caused by the file/folder permissions that you are using. See Securing Kunena in the Wiki. Search for "cannot upload files" in the forum. This question is often asked. If you set the permissions correctly then you will probably fix the problems, too.

Actually this issue doesn't come from file permissions: for some reason file itself was not fetched into the server -- so this is probably configuration issue in server itself or in your browser.

I am having a problem where neither FF or IE is working to upload any file types of any size. When I select the file as
, I get the same error as this one:

"Attachment Gifts.jpg not found"

Any advice really appreciated. I have searched and reviewed other posts but nothing seems to work.

G'day, pinksnyper, and welcome to Kunena.

For folder/file permissions, check again Securing Kunena . Do you get any error message (anywhere) after you post your message containing the attachment? You may have to enable debug mode (Joomla and Kunena) to see what's going on.
