I was thinking overnight, I wonder if we could test this test site ourselves? Maybe it's a browser issue? It might also assist if you enable Joomla debug mode on the test site, too.

darkened: What is the URL of your test site and do you have an account we could use ourselves, please? Please provide the information enclosed within

Thanks. I tried to upload a very small image to your test site, but I couldn't. There was no explanation why it didn't work, either.

Just about everything seems to point to the "peculiar" IIS security in place here. I don't know enough about IIS and Joomla to be able to help.

There's nothing specifically sanctioned by Joomla against using IIS servers but they do require "extra" attention and the Joomla help forum is littered with questions by IIS users about how to set things up correctly. This could be a line of investigation open to you to pursue. On the other hand, you may find a quicker way to resolve the problem if you look at running your site on Unix server with, say, Apache web server software. After all, that's what Joomla basically "recommends".

The account you gave me, while it gives me some administrator rights, does not allow me to see the Global Configuration settings to explain why I got the message "Failed to upload file 'gumby.jpg': Image MIME type () is not allowed (jpg, jpeg, gif, png)." Perhaps, if you enable Joomla debug mode on the test site, we may know more? :S

"Failed to upload file 'gumby.jpg': Image MIME type () is not allowed (jpg, jpeg, gif, png)."

If you get that error, there's probably MIME extension missing from the site. The best thing to do is to disable MIME support from Kunena (not sure if it helps, though).
