I have tried to add attachments on forum posts. But I get an error

JFile::copy: Cannot find or read file: 'C:\WINDOWS\Temp\phpE184.tmp'

Failed to upload file 'example_image.jpg': Could not move file into E:\CustomerData\webspaces\webspace_0??????6\wwwroot\mydomain.com\content/media/kunena/attachments/62/example_image.jpg.

edited webspace_0???????6 & mydomain.com

I have played with the back-end configuration - Made sure uploads are enabled, checked legal file extensions, etc...

This looks like it is trying to access the "phpE184.tmp" file from my workstation and not from the web server? I haven't any luck trying to find the php.ini, I am using a shared server. I have tried looking for this via FTP and through my web host's User Control Panel.

This is the feature I am having issues with;

Any help on resolving this issue would be great!, I have seen some posts on the forums where people have resolved issues similar to this, but didn't really follow too well what I needed to to in order to resolve the issue.

Kind regards

G'day, darkened, and welcome to Kunena.

If you search this forum you will see that your question is often-asked and, as you will find, there are all kinds of explanations as to why that is the case.

No offence intended, but that's a little "dangerous" if you don't know what you're doing. Now that you've changed your configuration settings, is there any chance we might see your configuration report? Theoretically, on a properly-established Joomla footing (and that's the key), Kunena works, out-of-the-box without having to make any changes at all. Did you read the K 1.6 & K 1.7 Installation Guide ?

Armed with a little more information, we'll do our best to help you as quickly as we can. :)

Looks like you're having issues with your PHP configuration -- looks like it doesn't have access to create files into \Temp directory (upload related options in PHP are wrong or you have some kind of limitation that prevents using \Temp).

B) Typically I toggle a setting and apply and refresh the site, if it didn't resolve then I would undo what I previously did.

Forgive me, but can you tell me the best why to give you a configuration report? I am happy to post one

I was thinking it had to be something along those lines when I saw it using my computer as the source for phpE184.tmp. I'm just not sure how to check and fix that.

Possible useful things to know;

-Website is on a shared server
-Using JomSocial
-Using Kunena plugin for JomSocial. Users will be able to display their Kunena post.

Please see the FAQs menu tab at the top of this page. See What information should I include when I ask for help (including how to post my configuration report)?

I think, however, Matias is on to something - something that, BTW, is mentioned in most of those other topics I referred to in the search results I posted in my last message - concerning folder/file permissions. See Securing Kunena for more help there.
