Hi
I have problems with bb code as well. When you are in message editor window none of these buttons work. I cannot add smiles, change fonts or add links.

Has anyone come across any solution?

Kunena 1.5.8, Joomla 1.5.15

I don't understand how your problems are associated with this discussion topic. It sounds to me like your problems are caused by a conflicting Joomla extensions (like RokCandy plugin, for instance) or the Kunena template that you're using.

Thanks a lot! Just unpublished RokCandy and it works now!
I thought this topic was going in other direction, sorry :)
Thanks again!

Also, something else. It is now seemingly impossible to have images that are also links. for example, if i have [ url=http://www.google.com] and [ /url] around the image, the image is still resized, but no longer linked, and the URL info is displayed as text either side of the image (obviously i put spaces in the code here to show the tags

The width operand in the quote was actually a size operand? was that a typo?

Yes, I meant size

either way i tried the BBcode which you have suggested, the image has remained the same,

i tried it with width=600, width="600" width=600px width="600px" and the same but with size instead of width, nothing seems to work?

I tried your image on my forum website as I constructed it here
Code:
[img size=600]http://www.teamsao.com/images/stories/Promo/L4D2Installer/addon.jpg[/img]
Your image renders like this:
There is a maximum size to which you can go to which is governed by the template you use.

The size setting does change things, as you will discover

If this is an intended feature of kunena, maybe it should have a separate tag from IMG as i can see it's an excellent feature for things like uploaded images, but its a nightmare for images pulled from the web, forum sigs, and images you have made specifically to go in the forum head announcement

I can't say anything about intentions, but this has been standard operating procedure with Kunena for a very long time. It's difficult, I would imagine, crafting a solution to allow a general-purpose forum deliver the functionality to render a broad assortment of different image sizes. Obviously, though, if an image is too large for your forum it will screw everything up, so there have to be compromises made in this department. Some of those compromises involve changing images or template designs. That's all that I can say about the matter. B)

As I stated:

There is a maximum size to which you can go to which is governed by the template you use.

You need to experiment, by changing your Joomla template, perhaps by adjusting Kunena configuration settings. Unfortunately, this is about as far as I can go with this support issue.
