The more im looking at this, the more im thinking this may not be an issue with the kunena template etc, but in the code for how BBcode is rendered for the IMG tag

bigc90210: Yes I see the issue you described as a logged-in user. You summed this up before,

If I use [img]url of the image[/img] Then the image is [displayed but] reduced in size, and is linkable (when you mouseover and click, it takes you to a blank webpage showing the image full size).

I dont want this to happen, i just want the image, at its original size, and not linked to anything. Previously [IMG=URLOFTHEIMAGE] has always worked fine, till now[/quote][ img=[i]<Image_URL>[/i]] is not valid [i]Kunena[/i] BBCode. It may be "BBCode" for some other forum, but it's not valid for [i]Kunena[/i]. Perhaps this changed from when [i]Kunena[/i] was [i]Fireboard[/i] (or before that), I can't say. I can only tell you what's appropriate for the version of [i]Kunena[/i] that you have installed. There is your second question: why are you displaying two different announcements (one when you are logged-in and the other when you are not). I have a theory that this may relate to the "Short Text" announcement and the "Long Text" announcement. Make sure that you have the same announcement in each and they will probably render the same way for visitors and registered users. As for why the image is reduced in size, you have a [i][b]little[/b][/i] control over this. Try this, instead, [code][img size=600]http://www.teamsao.com/images/stories/Promo/L4D2Installer/addon.jpg[/img][/code]

actually come to think of it, it seems to be doing the EXACT same action as it does for uploaded images, then again thats with it being the same BBcode once the upload is complete... Its good for uploaded images but not for standard ones

Automatic image reduction is a feature of Kunena. It has nothing to do with whether the image was uploaded as part of a message or whether the image is served in any other way. Please see my last message relating to the "width=" operand. You might also like to reinstate your former Kunena template to ensure that it is not responsible for any other issues. I think that I've concluded my analysis of your problem. :)

Hi
I have problems with bb code as well. When you are in message editor window none of these buttons work. I cannot add smiles, change fonts or add links.

Has anyone come across any solution?

Kunena 1.5.8, Joomla 1.5.15

I don't understand how your problems are associated with this discussion topic. It sounds to me like your problems are caused by a conflicting Joomla extensions (like RokCandy plugin, for instance) or the Kunena template that you're using.

The width operand in the quote was actually a size operand? was that a typo?

either way i tried the BBcode which you have suggested, the image has remained the same,

i tried it with width=600, width="600" width=600px width="600px" and the same but with size instead of width, nothing seems to work?

If this is an intended feature of kunena, maybe it should have a separate tag from IMG as i can see it's an excellent feature for things like uploaded images, but its a nightmare for images pulled from the web, forum sigs, and images you have made specifically to go in the forum head announcement
