Thank you for your question, Alistair. Your question formed the basis for the article I wrote today in my K 1.6 "'blog" - see Kunena 1.6 - A dingo took my login ... ? . :)

Maybe you could get rid of the login link (inserted by Kunena) completely?

Do you know how we can accomplish that? We'd like to try this to see if we can get rid of that login and logout.

ps. am I getting any royalties for prompting your blog article? ;)

Alistair, there have been dozens of topics devoted to how to remove the login link from the Kunena profilebox. Removing the login module from the page on which you display Kunena is easy, too - that's a Joomla issue. To learn how to assign modules in Joomla, you might like to read one of several excellent books on Joomla (I have recommended a couple, also on numerous occasions) or visit the Joomla help forum ( forum.joomla.org ). :)

That's one of them, yes. I would not use the specific code provided in that topic - it relates to K 1.5.4 - but the idea is the same. The solution lies in hacking the file ../components/com_kunena/template/default/plugin/profilebox/profilebox.php.

Another solution is to block the login module from appearing on your forum page.

Another solution is to not ever worry about the issue. The main thing is that your users login to your website. If you give them more than one opportunity to do that on a single page, does it really matter?

I disagree, it looks unprofessional. Also, the logout with the key looks prety cr^p too in my opinion.
