Important CPU abuse from Php

Question. Why is this posted in the Kunena 1.0.6 – 1.0.9 and Fireboard forum?

G'day, GM. The topic was created in this category because, at the time, irradiate was using Kunena 1.0.9. He has only, in the last couple of days, upgraded to K 1.0.10 but not for reasons of performance. He is yet to make a couple of post-upgrade changes (such as fixing the broken K 1.0.10 search function, and others) listed in the "solutions and fixes" discussions.

You're quite right, too, GM - and irradiate and I agreed last night - that further empirical evidence (from the webhost) is needed. Fortunately, the webhosting company provides an excellent telephone support service.

Don't speak too soon about the support from webcity..... Its been pretty hopeless to say the least.

I finally got ssh access to have a look at the mysql slow queries log to find that they are empty! I contacted the host again and after waiting two days for a reply email (I also rang but they said the response had to be by email) and they explained that the logs are emptied by them and that they have another log that I can't have access to.

They have offered to have a look at the site for me and try to rectify the problem for a fee per hour.... and they don't know how long it will take and require payment up front :blink:

So, I'm now in the process of changing hosts and while doing it noticed the Joomla error log is pretty big. Had a look and I'm not too sure if anything is of use in it but here is the errors leading up to the point when they suspended me.

Again, I don't know what I am looking at, so I thought I would throw it up here incase it has any information.

All those error 2006s means there is a massive timeout on the server.

Yep... I would go either for an error on the server, or a bad installation... you sure kunena installed without problems?

I had LOTS of MySQL server dead errors in IXWebhosting (avoid it!) moved to sureservers, and all is fabulous, no error on about 3 months, and site is superfast!

Although this could be a problem with the hosting service, the best way to confirm if it's Kunena causing the problem would be to create a brand-new J! 1.5.10 website (if you're really adventurous and want "to boldly go where no-one has gone before" - well, not with success anyway - use J! 1.5.11) and nothing else but Kunena 1.0.10, import your data there and report if you're experiencing performance problems.

This could be Kunena, or the database, or the MySQL server ... or any one of the dozen additional Joomla extensions/templates that irradiate is using.
