The Kunena team has announce the arrival of Kunena 7.0.5 [K 7.0.5] in stable which is now available for download as a native Joomla extension for J! 5.4.x/6.0.x. This version addresses most of the issues that were discovered in K 6.2 / K 6.3 / K 6.4 and issues discovered during the last development stages of K 7.0.

The Kunena team is also pleased to announce the eleventh version of Kunena 6.4, a native Joomla extension for Joomla! 5.0, 5.1, 5.2, 5.3, 5.4 and 6.0.

Thanks for the quick replies. I went ahead and uploaded the 1.0.9 after turning on the legacy mode plugin.

I did get the following errors:
Creation/permission setting of the following directories failed:
/var/www/homeprodigy.com/htdocs/blog/media/kunena/attachments/legacy/
/var/www/homeprodigy.com/htdocs/blog/media/kunena/attachments/legacy/avatars
/var/www/homeprodigy.com/htdocs/blog/media/kunena/attachments/legacy/avatars/gallery (you have to put avatars inside if you want to use it)
/var/www/homeprodigy.com/htdocs/blog/media/kunena/attachments/legacy/category_images
/var/www/homeprodigy.com/htdocs/blog/media/kunena/attachments/legacy/files
/var/www/homeprodigy.com/htdocs/blog/media/kunena/attachments/legacy/images
a) You can copy the contents of _kunena.files.distribution under components/com_kunena to your Joomla root, under images/ folder.
b) If you already have the contents there, but Kunena installation was not able to make them writable, then please do it manually.

I am learning so just to confirm... these are no big deal, right?

Is it better to :
a) do this work manually as the message says
b) create these 5 folders and then uninstall & install Kunena again fresh?????

Many thanks,
Mike

Mike,

This is not ok. It seems that your webserver user does not have create file/directory rights inside the blog directory. Please check the permissions and user settings of your install. Without these files, some functions will not work, nor will users be able to attach files or images to their posts.

In the Joomla backend check the following page:

Help >> System Info >> Directory permissions

All entries should be green. Any red ones in here suggest that you will have problems installing new components.

I would expect the images folder to show red amongst others.

Hope this helps!
