Question Forum is creating HTML Errors

Yes, on your website, I saw this error with IE 6,7 and 8.

BTW: I get this Error on your website at templates.webdesign-welt.de/demo-forum.h...func=showcat&catid=2 as well.

Me too. But - the used template has some javascripts. When I changed the template to default Joomla Template rhuk_milkyway, the error disappears. Of course, I made cache, cookies etc in IE 8 empty before testing this.

You should test this too. Disable all adsense and non-joomla scrips, choose rhuk_milkyway.

Edit: Like you can see, there is an error message too on a site, without Kunena.

have done that and used the recommended template. Switched of ads and Google Analytics. But no change.

Actually my site does not have error reportings in any other area than in Kunena.

@mibert: with all due respect, this discussion is centering on a case of "he says, she says". Yes, I can see that Internet Explorer V7 detects a client-side scripting error with your website (Windows XP); I can also verify the same "errors" are present with Internet Explorer V8 (Windows Vista). I can also tell you that IE8 for Vista is different to IE8 for XP. Does this help you? I doubt it. :side:

It's highly probable, as a couple of us have tried to point out, that a third-party add-on is causing these errors. It's equally as probable that it's Google Analytics as it is that it's Joomla itself. Who knows? More to the point, who cares as long as your site works. Your site works; it works very well. Congratulations. :kiss:

I can inform the world that I get similar errors when I view the webpage where we're having this discussion and those "errors" don't affect my ability to participate one bit!

If you want to isolate this "problem" - which I think is a storm in a teacup - to a particular version of Kunena, then do this:

1. Create a fresh Joomla 1.5.10 website and do nothing to it - do not add any other components/extensions.
2. Install Kunena 1.0.10.
3. Check for IE 7/8 "errors".
4. Report your findings.

Don't worry about those nagging little problems because they're only going to send you to a premature death through stress. :lol:

I think I think I have to accept this problem for the time being, as there seems no feasible solution for it. Anyway, I cant say that I am happy, especially as the quick reply still doesn't work.
