Question Forum is creating HTML Errors

Hi there,

another issue with Kunena 1.0.10.
The forum pages generate an HTML Error in IE8.

Please see this Link for example.

May be that is also the reason why my Quick reply function does not work.

I have upgraded to CB1.2.1 and Kunena 1.0.10 with Joomla 1.0.15 few days ago and since then I am really struggeling.

Any advise would be most appreciated.

Just post the error message please. Not all people are using IE8. In FireFox it looks fine. More than likely one of those modules is causing your problem. Have you tried disabling them? They look like they run some javascript that might be interfering. Especially that ad scroller.

When calling the the above mentioned Link, IE8 is reporting some Error such as:

I am getting an Error message here in this forum as well:

You should be more precise. This error shows up in the browser status bar. No it doesn't help. You have a script conflict somewhere. Someone else might me a little more helpful. Good luck with that.

@mibert: as GM wrote, you have a Javascript (client side) error. Microsoft is notorious for these. Technically-speaking, it's the fault of the web developer - in your case, it's you! - but that's not very helpful, is it? :blink:

We get these kinds of things all the time, everywhere. Most of the time we just put up with them because Microsoft just does everything differently. :silly: As I've written before on this topic, it's just "one of those things." If you really, really, really, want to have 100% error-free, bullet-proof code, you have to "work like a Trojan" in order to correct the Javascript. It's one way to work yourself into an early grave ... bearing in mind the law of diminishing returns .

Why do you want to fix the problem? 99.9% of the reason is the web developer taking pride in their work. For the rest of us poor hacks, we've learnt to take these things in our stride.

I see the same error notifications in the status bar when I view your website (both in IE 7 and IE . Your website looks great, by the way! In functional terms, there is no problem to the user ... to the developer, there's just that nagging little exclamation point on the bottom of the window. I also get error notifications in the status bar when I view pages at www.kunena.com and the occasional error when I view certain pages at www.microsoft.com .
